L. M. Hocker creates imaginative, whimsical paintings that bring Amish country, local landmarks, animals, and unexpected stories together in bold color.
Lancaster-based artist Lynn M. Hocker began painting in November 2020 after a lifetime of working creatively in woodcraft and furniture building. His paintings grew from an urge to make and explore, with humor and familiar places at the center of the work.
Often described as whimsical Americana folk art, each piece deliberately breaks the traditional frame, with part of the image extending beyond its edge. Whispering Creek Studios is part of the Whispering Creek Foundation, founded to continue Lynn’s community giving and support nonprofit organizations.
